Double belt presses from HELD are the ideal production systems for the continuous production of sheet and plate materials when using the through-feed method. Using various processes, such as continuous laminating, compacting, consolidation and smoothing, they allow different materials to be processed, such as films, fabrics, mats of fibres, granulates or powders.
In each case, the respective components are run through the press between two endless steel belts – either individually or together. At the intake and the outlet, these steel belts are looped around heated steel drums. Pressure plates, with which heat and pressure are applied to the conveyed materials, are located between them in the so-called reaction zone. The temperature zones can be individually adjusted.
The benefits of an extraordinary technology - The technology used by HELD takes advantage of the benefits of an isobaric pressure pad and effective heat transfer elements. According to the laws of physics, this results in an even pressure distribution and outstanding heat transfer properties, which allow heating or cooling processes under constant pressure. The result: a top-quality, highly efficient production.
Continuous operation at temperatures of 400°C and a specific surface pressure of up to 80 bar have long been the standard for our plants. The same holds true for the versatile uses of our double belt presses: Plants made by HELD have been ensuring an efficient and reliable production in a wide range of industries.

Local control panel
Local control panels with touchpads simplify the operation of shafts on site. Safety features, such as an Emergency Stop and a Belt Stop, ensure an increased operational safety.
Tiltable Bearing
The winding and unwinding spindles, which are equipped with Tiltable Bearing, allow for the placement and removal of the rolls of material from the front. This has multiple benefits, such as the replacement of individual rolls without having to remove other rolls.
Press structure
The press structure is cooled, which allows a surface temperature of approx. 60°C to be maintained even when the press is operated at a maximum temperature of 400°C.
Spindles
The spindles inserted into the upper and lower press structure allow the press gap to be adjusted via the push of a button. They can be opened for belt changes. The upper press structure is cantilever-fitted at the base frame and therefore allows easy access for maintenance and service.
Two heating/pressure plates
The reaction zone is formed by two heating/pressure plates. The number of heating/cooling zones is determined by the material requirements. The isobaric pressure cushion is sealed behind the running steel belt via a double sealing system. The continuous pressure zones permit heating and cooling while maintaining an isobaric pressure.
Load cells
Deviating shafts equipped with load cells allow the tensile force to be controlled. This means that sensitive materials can be controlled with great precision in order to prevent tearing off or elongation. High tensile forces are available for robust materials.
Unwind shafts
Motors are used to individually drive the unwind shafts.
The shafts feature a sturdy design and, upon request, are also available in 3 or 6 inches. Tiltable bearings are required depending on the weight of the rolls and the width of the plant.
Main control panel
The main control panel can either be suspended or implemented as a standing desk. The entire plant is controlled from here, with set and actual parameters also being clearly displayed.
High-temperature double belt press
up to 400°C, 80 bar and 20 m/min.
Reaction zone width up to 1.60 m (greater widths upon request)
Low-temperature double belt press
up to 220°C, 80 bar and 50 m/min.
Reaction zone width up to 2.25 m (greater widths upon request)
